Applications: The numbers used to adjust the temperature on most refrigerators only raise or lower the
temperature. They usually do not refl ect the real temperatures in your fridge. A different
measurement may be needed to monitor and maintain the true temperature. Using a
refrigerator thermometer is the only way to assure your refrigerator is at the correct
temperature.


40°F or lower is the recommended refrigerator temperature to slow bacterial growth and
maintain food quality. On the other side, freezing occurs at 32°F. Adjust refrigerator
accordingly between 32°F and 40°F to prevent unwanted freezing, such as freezing milk.
